The D-Zero Class Association is pleased to announce that we will be at the RYA Dinghy Show 2018 at Alexandra Palace on the 3rd and 4th March. On a combined stand with the new D-Zero UK dealer DZero you will find 2 D-Zeros. One with the larger grey rig (8.1 sqm) and another with the smaller blue rig (6.9 sqm). One boat will also be sporting the optional lifting rudder.

The class will also being giving a presentation on the Class Association stage in the Great Hall at 16:00 on the Sunday detailing what will be happening with the class in 2018 including details of the training schedule and extensive demo tour by DZero.

David Valentine from DZero says:

At DZero on stand G6, you will find the Devoti Sailing Optimist and D-Zero sailing dinghies, as well as the D-Zero Class Association.
The D-Zero will be showing both options of sail 6.9m2 and 8.1m2, and the liftable and cassette rudder options. The D-Zero is a no-compromise singlehander, from the unique no-gunwhale Dan Holman design to the high specification of North Sails kevlar laminate sail matched to the fantastic Compotech carbon-fibre spars plus high quality Harken blocks & cleats throughout.
The Optimist will be rigged with a North Sails X-Cut racing sail, and both dinghies will show the very high quality finishes to achieve high performance sailing.
For the D-Zero, we will be holding a 2-part promotion – Firstly, for any sailors placing a deposit for a new D-Zero at the show will gain a days training at a location near them from either our Team Rider and former British Sailing Team Finn sailor Pete McCoy, or from the 2017 National D-Zero Champion. Secondly, those who wish to know more about the D-Zero and are looking to have a demonstration sail can place their names in a hat for a days training from the very same high level sailors !
These will enable those who are starting in the D-Zero or wish to join the Class to gain the maximum benefit from their first few days sailing and uplift their performance.
For Optimist sailors, it will be a chance to see the superior finish of the Devoti build, and to discuss the level of build as each one can be tailored to any sailor.
The D-Zero Class Association will have several members on hand to advise about the 2018 race programme, social events and demonstrations, as well as why they love the D-Zero. The Class also will be running a short talk at 1600hrs on Sunday re the events, training and whay the class is amazing !
As having just taken over the UK dealership, I am keen to show off the high quality from Devoti, and launch the new website dzero.co.uk, aswell as our Facebook and Instagram pages, dzero.co.uk. In addition, we will be explaining how we will be offering free-of-charge demonstrations to potential buyers, facilitating training from top-level sailors, and offering a loaded e-comm store.

Paul Jefferies – D-Zero UK Class Association Chair says:

This is an exciting time for the D-Zero as a class. The class is growing steadily and many boats are changing hands as people upgrade before they even reach the open market.
The class would like to thank our outgoing UK dealer, Suntouched Sailboats, for their hard work in in getting the class launched in the first place and for their continuing work since 2014 and getting us to where we are today. We are looking forward to working with David at DZero who is a keen D-Zero sailor himself, and knows just how good the boat is. We have found that simply getting someone in the boat for a sail is often enough to convince them to join us.
With our major events sponsors already secured with  Harken  for our National Championships and Sailing Chandlery (formerly Dinghy Rope) for our Inland Championships along  with north and south regional circuits scheduled for 2018 it is going to be a great year of D-Zero sailing.

Want to find out more? then simply surf on over to the Class Association website (https://www.d-zerosailing.org) and take a look around or come and see our team of friendly boat owners at the show.
