The D-Zero Class Association Committee would like to wish all Class Association Members, potential D-Zero owners and website/social media followers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2016 has been a good year for the D-Zero class with an excellent UK National Championships hosted by Highliffe SC where 41 entries battled it out to become the 2016 UK D-Zero National Champion. Congratulations to Ian Morgan who gave us all a wave sailing masterclass and took the title.

Then on to Grafham Water in September for our Inland Championships where Ian was among the favourites to win but was pipped to the title by Dan Wigmore who sailed a very consistent series to take the title in a borrowed boat (we had suggested to Dan that he really needs to get one now).

Now, as the year draws to a close, the hardy D-Zero fleet are still out on the water battling it out for the title of D-Zero Winter Series Champion 2016/2017. With events at Yorkshire Dales on the 27th December and Grafham Water on the 2nd January there is still plenty of sailing to be had in the cold winter months.

Looking forward to 2017 we have our National Championships at Royal Torbay on the 16th to 18th June, where we are expecting an entry of approaching 50 boats and the Inland Championships at Grafham on the 10th and 11th September where another big entry is expected with the home fleet at Grafham approaching 20 boats and nearby Hunts SC heading for double figures.

We also have fleets building all over the country with recent fleet deals from our distributor Suntouched Sailboats creating fleets at Carsington in Derbyshire and Restronguet in Cornwall. Hats off to the guys at Restronguet who have also organised some Winter Training which is open to anyone.
