As the year draws to a close on another year the D-Zero class association would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Also the more observant among you may also notice a fresh new look for the Class Association website.
So why the change and what’s new?
There were a number of things that we did not like about the previous look so a small team got together to improve things. The brief was to make the page look more appealing and exciting as well as adding more media content. All of the previous content is still there and we have added things like an upcoming events section on the front page, a link to our YouTube channel as well as working on getting the site more prominent in search engines. We are also looking to use our social media channels more effectively by combining the Facebook page and group so the page can publish official news.
If you have any comments, feedback or find an issue please do let us know by filling out the Webmaster contact form that you can find by clicking here.
Looking forward to 2018….
With the D-Zero Winter Series 2017/2018 well underway there is already plenty to interest D-Zero sailors early in the new year. The 2018 events calendar is taking shape with events from Largs in Scotland to our UK Nationals Championships in Plymouth. With plenty of dedicated and supported events in between there is sure to be an event near you! To see the events calendar please click here.
The Northern D-Zero sailors are also working hard to raise the profile of the class in the North. They have put together a Northern Travellers series with several confirmed events already. Not to be outdone the Southerners are working on grouping some of the south events for a similar circuit.
The year does, of course, start off the with RYA Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace in March. We are pleased to announce that there will be at least one D-Zero at the show thanks to the cost being underwritten. There will be more news on the Dinghy Show early in 2018 including a call for volunteers.
