The Class Association is actively monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and is following the RYA and current Government advice. The UK Government guidelines are being updated frequently. The Class is currently expecting events to happen as planned as long as the host clubs are are open but please look out for further notices as the situation is very fluid.
Latest – Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. The global outbreak has now been labelled as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The risk to the UK has been raised to high.
What do I need to do?
Stay at home away for 7 days if you have either:
a high temperature
a new continuous cough
This will help to protect others in your community (and at the Club) while you are infectious.
Preventive measures
The best ways to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and almost all other germs, is;
Regular handwashing, using soap or a sanitiser gel
Cleaning hard surfaces and immediate workspace (including equipment) using disinfectant sprays and wipes
Covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing using a tissue and disposing of used tissues without delay
D-Zero Class Activities
The government has confirmed that people with mild symptoms should stay at home and self-isolate for seven days. We all need to follow the advice on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus. If you have any symptoms please stay away, if attending an event please, for the benefit of all, follow the advice above, and let’s hope we all keep healthy through this.
We are not intending to cancel any upcoming events although the situation is under review.
Kind regards,
D-Zero Class Association Committee
